CrawlingBy Letitia Joubert Dated : 15 Dec'10
Crawling is a baby’s first step to being “independent” His first way to get around on his own way. At first, they will learn how to balance on their hands and knees. Then they will start by “rocking” back and forth on their knees, and before you know it, they will be crawling around everywhere.
So, the question every mom ask, “When must my baby start crawling?” Most babies will start to crawl by the age of 10 months, some babies will start earlier, and some babies won’t start crawling even after 10 months. Sometimes premature babies will develop their crawling skills at a much later stage in their lives. If after your little one turns one, and he/she did not show any signs of getting into motion, like “butt crawling”, rolling onto tummy, scooting etc, bring it up when you see your pead for his one year check-up.
My sons started crawling at a very young age, and they crawled for a long period of time. Sometimes is was a blessing, but , they were all over the place! Just remember, as soon as your baby starts to getting active, you have to make sure your house is “baby proof”
